Counseling, Teaching, and Information Sharing
Speaking to someone who has been where you are, who has experienced what you are going through, can be therapeutic, restorative, informative, engaging, and enlightening. People with disabilities often understand one another’s struggles more thoroughly.
Abilities in Motion's Peer Counselors can share related disability experiences and knowledge. Even if they do not share precisely the same disabilities, Peer Counselors can provide support and insight to develop vital coping and independent living skills.
Peer counseling through AIM promotes personal growth to individuals with disabilities and, ultimately, enhances independence and quality of life. We have a variety of peer counselors experienced in addressing a myriad of disabilities.
These are people who know how you feel and what you are going through. They're here to help!
