Abilities in Motion (AIM) joins the friends and family of AIM’s former board president, Terry Graul, in celebrating his life and accomplishments during a memorial on Friday, June 16.
Terry’s devotion to the disabled community was endless. His commitment to the independent living movement was steadfast and forefront in his affiliation with Abilities in Motion, the Berks County Center for Independent Living. He believed that individuals with disabilities could live fully, on their own terms, and according to their own aspirations.
In his passing, Terry’s widow, Suzanne Graul, made several in-kind donations to several people in need in the community. A hospital bed is going to a consumer who is a quadriplegic and has been unable to get a bed through insurance. A consumer who has not been able to pay for van modification will receive an adaptable van, allowing him to be more mobile in his community. Finally, a power chair will be donated to a consumer whose current power chair died and insurance refused to provide another.
Donations likes these allow Abilities in Motion to improve the lives of those we serve. It is with unending gratitude that we remember Terry for his service and his wife, Suzanne, for assisting AIM in its mission to help others.
