Abilities in Motion (AIM) is proud to announce that it has received a three-year Accreditation for Long-Term Services and Supports from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). This is the highest Accreditation that NCQA can confer.
Voluntary accreditation by a national body like NCQA demonstrates that AIM’s Case Management program is dedicated to getting the right care to patients including policies of care coordination, patient-centeredness, and improving quality of care.
AIM began the long and intricate process of accreditation nearly a year ago, deciding that our practices and policies were of substantial merit and should be recognized as such. AIM’s application for Accreditation was accepted in February, 2017, and we began a process of review of our files, policies, and procedures to ensure that they complied with the standards of Accreditation. The NCQA staff conducting our Accreditation surveyed our materials in September, 2017, looking back at a six-month period of reports and files. AIM was informed in mid-November that we had earned the top NCQA Accreditation available.
“AIM believes in continual quality assurance and we view our NCQA Accreditation as an outward symbol of an inward commitment,” said AIM Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance Jennifer Strausser. “AIM is ‘person-centric’ and we are proud of the service that we provide to the community at large and to individuals with disabilities.”
NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations. It also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance. NCQA is committed to providing health care quality information for consumers, purchasers, health care providers, and researchers.
